The Waterside Inn is the oldest 3 star Michelin restaurant in the country. It has an unrivalled gastronomic pedigree which Michel and Alain Roux have maintained to the highest standards possible. In 2009 the decision was made to totally replace, extend and upgrade the kitchen facility to meet the demands of the business and streamline the production arrangements.

The contract was awarded to the Gratte Brothers Group after an interview process to identify the company best suited for project. Gratte Brothers Group were appointed to undertake the provision of not only the kitchen, but also the design and supply of the considerable mechanical and electrical infrastructure. This project included a specialist builder, Blackwell Projects who undertook the builders work element to an exacting programme delivering the expected level of quality finish.

Charles Parker project managed the catering element and worked closely with the Roux’s refining the design and managing all aspects of the catering installation. The attention to detail was paramount and Pioneer fabrications produced the custom fabricated stainless steel items to fine tolerances. The resulting installation gained the prestigious CEDA Grand Prix Kitchen of the year award. Charles Parker has since gone on to design, supply and project manage installation for customers and acquaintances’ of the Roux’s and to this day maintain links with the restaurant and Alain Roux.
